From the sample store

01 You ask
“Which 5 customers spent the most this year?”

02 NatureQuery writes

SELECT c.name, SUM(o.total_amount) AS total_spent
FROM orders o
JOIN customers c ON c.id = o.customer_id
WHERE o.status IN ('completed', 'shipped')
  AND o.order_date >= '2026-01-01'
GROUP BY c.id, c.name
ORDER BY total_spent DESC
LIMIT 5;
